Wayne has been looking after my dog Downey since she was a puppy. She loves being with Wayne and his extended dog family. I never worry about her when she is with Wayne because I know he takes great care of her. I am a single dog parent and I work shift work. I have often had to call the Dogfather at the last minute to take care of my dog because I cannot make it home for an extended period of time. Last September when my husband and I went away we had Wayne watch our Irish Setter for us. He is very much a dog person and she hit it off with him immediately even though she is a fairly female bonded dog. She can be a challenge at times as she is strong willed and quite independent but he handled her with confidence and already had an understanding of the traits and foibles of her breed.—Crystyn
My dogs are always a little better trained after they’ve been with Wayne for pet sitting. Wayne has never once not been able to care for my dogs. I can always count on him. I have two puppies who receive daily puppy visits from the Dogfather, while my wife and I are working. I thought that I was the best novice dog-trainer in the world, until my wife and I spoke to Wayne about walking and training. That’s when we found out that Wayne had already been working on some of the basics during his puppy visits. I really appreciate that Wayne noted what commands (and associated visual cues) my wife and I use, instead of only using his own –which would have made training more difficult for us. It is comforting to know that someone who understands what is best for my dogs is taking care of them when we can’t be there, instead of a parent or neighbour –who might spoil a grand-puppy or have unusual ideas about how dogs should behave. -Wes |
